Appellate and Postconviction

appellate01Mr. Carpio started his career, following a highly respected clerkship with the Hon. Gary I. Strausberg in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, at the prestigious Collateral Review Division of the Office of the Maryland Public Defender then headed by Stephen D. Harris.

During his tenure at the post-conviction unit, Mr. Carpio quickly earned his spurs by obtaining new trials in several important cases, and handling even a direct appeal in a robbery case that was overturned on post-conviction.
